The historian feature collects and stores images and data received from the remote sensors for later retrieval and analysis.

The data and progressive modeling of the images can then be used to demonstrate and train plant personnel about conditions or procedures that could potentially be harmful. In the situation where an event does occur, no matter what hour of the day or night, the historian files allow the process engineer, or anyone else, who may not have been available when the event occurred, to retrieve and review all details of what exactly happened, providing valuable information to develop future preventive methods.
